Another shot from Vermillion Lakes in Banff National Park, this time the a portrait oriented version of [link] The title's a bit of a joke on that old expression. I prefer to be out in the woods rather in the city.

This is a stunning scene, beautifully composed and while nature provided such wonderful light, you decided to capture it. Nicely done, very nicely done!

Thanks for the compliment. I have to admit, I'm really proud of this one. It wasn't easy to get, as I only had a gorillapod focus and it was perched precariously on another rock that was lodged quite far into a very thorny bush. Trying to level the show was also nothing short of nightmarish. Plus, the mosquitoes were out in force that night. I couldn't tell you how many cuts and bug bites I got, but it was totally worth it. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. :)

As long as you didn't get malaria from the 'squitoes, yeah it was worth it. You've got a lot of amazing work, and I can only hope to someday come close to this myself. Your work inspires me to get better, try harder, and work to get the shots I want.

Fortunately, we don't have malaria in Canada. I'm glad you think so highly of my work. If you want, check out my favourites in my "landscape" collection. Those are the people that I aspire to, so you'll probably find even more inspiration there. :) Good luck, happy shooting.
